The so-called Depleted uranium (DU) is the nuclear waste produced in the
process of making nuclear weapons and nuclear fuels. Using, testing and
producing DU weapons can cause radiation contamination, and bring about
seriously harmful effects on the environment and the people exposed to
it. In this workshop, we will discuss the impacts of DU weapons on health
and the issues regarding its victims in order to advance international
cooperation to extend relief to the victims and to ban uranium weapons
as swiftly as possible.

Ms. Carol Dwyer / Ms. Gretel Munroe: Grassroots Actions for Peace, from the communities neighboring the manufacturer of DU weapons
On the policy, research and compensation for the victims:
Ms. Pat Dillon : Connecticut Legislator, who introduced a bill requiring to test veterans upon returning from Iraq.)
